The COVID-19 pandemic has strained already vulnerable health systems, forced millions of families into poverty, caused school closures and learning loss for children, and disrupted maternal, newborn, and child health services.
In 2024, ELMA’s Evidence and Learning team conducted a review of the ways in which our partners have contributed to influencing policy and practice through ELMA’s investments. This article expands on the AIDS-free partner organizations’ influence on a global and national level.

COVID-19 presented a set of circumstances that accelerated the philanthropic practices toward which ELMA has been driving over several years
